East Midlands Education Trust was formed in September 2014 with a mission to raise the educational standards and improve the life chances of students within the partnership. There are currently six Academies within the partnership: John Flamsteed Community School, The Joseph Whitaker School, The Kimberley School, The Ripley Academy, South Wolds Academy and The West Bridgford School.
East Midlands Education Trust (EMET): The Trust
EMET is managed by a Board of Trustees who are responsible for the strategic development, the ethos and the management of the schools within the partnership. Most of these trustees are, or have been recently, parents with children in the partner schools.

The Trust meets regularly as a board of Trustees and has specific committees or named governors to deal with issues such as; Finance; Audit; Education & Standards; Strategic Development; and Pay, Performance & HR.
In addition, each school has its own local governing body which is accountable to the Trustees but which also has considerable amount of delegated authority to make decisions which affect the day to day running of their school.
